What is merino wool?

Merino wool is obtained from merino sheep and is of high quality and has many unique properties.

Merino clothing is known for its softness, breathability, adaptability and flexibility. It is also not scratchy like other types of wool. These are just some of the reasons why Merino wool travel clothing is so popular!

Ouar’s review of Merino wool shirts and travel hoodies

Previously, it imported a lot of high-quality wool to sell in Germany. Because of her, I learned that merino wool is more special than other types of wool.

However, sweaters were not my favorite clothes. The main reason is that it is not a good idea to wash and dry them along with the rest of your clothes, which can happen to me very quickly.

However, knowing the quality of merino wool, I was already looking forward to testing it out for myself.

Is it worth the price? Will it live up to my expectations?

I just need the right shirt.

Last week I received a Merino t-shirt, polo shirt, and travel compression hoodie from Unbound Merino to try out. And I can tell you, if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t have found this article.

My first impression was: “Nice – good! They look and feel good.” When my wife saw them she said: “Oh, they are so soft. Is there one for me?”

I obviously tried them straight away and expected that they would scratch badly. But they didn’t. Sure, it looks different from a regular cotton t-shirt, but it’s a different level of quality. Those small scratches disappeared after washing.

I tried them and my son’s reaction to polo was: “Looks like you want to do business. I like the hoodie the most.”

All three were promptly equipped and looked and felt good. And now I know which one to wear on my next business trip!

Good so far, but nothing unexpected compared to other T-shirts and pullovers.

Merino brands and retailers say they’re great travel products because they don’t wrinkle and don’t smell quickly. So let’s test this out! The question is, how am I going to smell the shirt and I after wearing them for two days?

You usually change your shirt daily. So far, I’ve been wearing clothes for four days. It’s late summer, the weather is good, and I’ve been outside most of the time in the shirt. So far, no one in the family has complained!

If only they were polite, I’d go further…

My son would have to make notes and tattoo the shirt after wearing it for seven days without washing.

I will add an update and get you feedback here soon!

Update: I’ve been wearing the shirt for a whole week now. I’ve been outside, inside, active, lazy… even working on my PC. 😉

I took it off last night and asked my son to smell it. And yes, it was sweaty, but it wasn’t strong. The plain shirt would have become “unwearable” by now.

I’m still expecting a better result, not really, but a little. So the shirt was moved to the closet. In the morning it’s time to test the new scent. My son was more careful, but then realized that all the “strong” smell was completely gone. My wife was next and she asked me if it was the same shirt.

I am completely convinced now. This is great travel gear, but also for everyday use.
